SCTelcom Expands Fiber Investment in Harper County

SCTelcom is happy to announce they will expand their fiber network in rural Harper County. SCTelcom has been building Gigabit capable networks since 2001 and continues to deploy fiber in Harper County.

Fiber is the basis for cutting edge networks that are not nearly ubiquitous enough in Rural America. When asked about the expansion, CEO, Carla Shearer said, “SCTelcom realizes the impact of reliable connections and are proud to extend our robust fiber optic network to rural areas in Harper County.” Fiber not only allows for Internet speeds of a Gigabit per second or more, but the network is also exceptionally reliable, scalable, and secure allowing for future growth and expansion outside of just lightning-fast Internet speeds.

Jeremey and Jessica Graves, managers of Farmers Oil Co. Inc., are excited about the new opportunities’ fiber will bring to their family. “With fiber, our lives will be improved. Our children will be able to participate in learning at home instead of at the office. Working at home will be more productive and efficient. Fiber Internet will also allow us to add additional features to our security system which our current Internet service can’t support.”

SCTelcom will start with construction of the main fiber line and then move to individual service drops to each residence and business.

To keep the community informed during construction, SCTelcom will provide updates on the company’s Facebook page and website.
