Residential Contract Terms
Speeds: Customer understands that the advertised speeds offered by SCTelcom are best effort speeds only, actual speeds will vary from time to time. SCTelcom cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free Internet service, nor guarantee suitability of Internet services for any particular use or purpose. The public Internet is a shared service and SCTelcom is not responsible for conditions outside the local network (including circumstances beyond our control, such as weather, power, acts of God, etc).
Response Time: Residential Class Internet is considered a class 3 priority, with a next business day class of service. Technicians will respond no later than one business day under normal circumstances. Wide spread outages, natural disasters, or other disruptions may result in slower response times in rare occasions.
Early Termination: In the event of early termination of the services by the customer prior to the end of the Agreement term, customer will be required to pay an Early Termination Fee. If 6 months or more remain in the initial contract term, customer shall be assessed a $250 Early Termination Fee. If less than 6 months remain in the initial contract term, then a prorated amount starting at $150 will be assessed to customer for early termination. Exceptions include proof of military or job related transfer out of state or country. Equipment was provided to customer by SCTelcom (but not paid for by customer) for service. Equipment fees will be assessed if the equipment is not returned in good working condition to SCTelcom at time of disconnect.
Upgrades and Changes: In the event the customer chooses to upgrade their service, they can upgrade without penalty during the duration of their contract. This shall not extend the terms of the original contract. The customer upgrade shall meet or exceed their existing contract.
Penalty for Late Payment: Customer’s service will be disconnected with notification if payment has not been received within 10 days of due date. The same rules apply to customer(s) in contract, but in addition to past due amount on account, they will also be responsible for the early termination fee of said Agreement. SCTelcom may request a security deposit(s) for a non-pay reconnect.
